Science league is a collection of games we created for an App development contest we joined in 2017 called Salinlahi Evolution!
the contest's premise was to highlight our national scientists and what they did for our country the Philippines. So we decided we cant just combine everything they done into an RPG, that wont do justice they deserve their own spots!

there were 3 of us on the team, each of us went to design our own game based on the research and output of each scientists.
Dr ramon barba enhanced out mango crops making them more amazing so we made Mango bloom!
N.S Ricardo lantican helped save the crops from a disease that ravaged cornfields back in the day with his research so we made Corn pop!
DR Clare baltazar created an enzyme that made crops fight back from predators like ants so we made Bugs away!

Mango bloom

Mango bloom's gameplay revolves around following the sign's pattern and swipe to it within the time frame!
Corn Pop

Corn pop is a quick time game based on whack a mole
Bugs away!

Bugs away! is a plant defense game that makes the player battle hordes and hordes of enemies to protect the super tasty crops!
Special features
We added a tips function every after the game that randomizes on the list of facts to enlighten players some more! And thats not all we also added unlockables for this game!

The Team

So in the end, we won 2nd place on the app development competition and got a really big cheque! one of our team members was out that day but as the saying goes, Ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind.... So we edited him in this winner shot.
Julz - Artist, Game designer
Gelo - Programmer, Game designer, Somewhat the lead
Tup - Programmer, Game designer
Conclusion
The app development contest was really fun to join, that was one of the first times we were pressured by a real world competition to work hard... Im glad we gave it our all and won a prize on the competition! Learned on this experience that ITS HARD to lead a team specially if everyone has their hands on the steering wheel, but nevertheless, this experience made us grow strong as individual and as team players!
